Phenoxyethanol is a colourless oily liquid in the glycol family.
With respect to skincare it is used to add moisture to cosmetic formulations.
It has a natural component of chicory and green tea. It is a commonly used preservative ingredient that replaces the use of harmful parabens. Although it is synthetically made in a laboratory it is derived of plant extracts and used to prolong the life of a product.
